Agreement to these terms

These terms are between you and Nourous (“Nourous,” “we,” “us”). By creating a Nourous account or installing the Nourous browser extension, you agree to these terms. If you’re setting up a profile for a child, you’re agreeing on their behalf as the parent or guardian who controls the account.

What Nourous is

Nourous is a browser extension and dashboard that reshapes YouTube recommendations on-device, based on rules you set — age-appropriate limits for a child’s profile, or focus rules for your own. It filters what YouTube recommends; it doesn’t block access to YouTube itself, and it isn’t affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google LLC.

Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create a Nourous account.
  • You’re responsible for the profiles under your account, including any child profiles you create and the accuracy of the information you provide for them.
  • You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials and parent PIN confidential.

Personal and Family plans

Nourous Personal — filtering your own YouTube — is free forever, no trial and no payment method involved. Nourous Family, for managing a child’s profile, includes a 14-day free trial with no credit card required to start. Because no payment method is on file during the trial, nothing charges automatically when it ends — Family features simply pause until you subscribe, and Personal is unaffected either way.

Subscriptions and billing

If you subscribe to Family, it’s billed at $1.99/month or $14.99/year, whichever you choose, until you cancel. Payments are processed by our reseller, Paddle.com Market Limited, who acts as merchant of record and handles your card details directly — we never see or store your card number. See our Refund Policy for cancellations and money-back requests.

Beta features

Some parts of Nourous — including features gated behind an invite code — are in beta. Beta features may change, break, or be removed without notice. Feedback you submit through the in-product beta form may be used to improve the product.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or resell access to Nourous.
  • Use Nourous to monitor or restrict anyone other than a child in your care or yourself — it isn’t a general-purpose surveillance tool.
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to our systems.
  • Use the override-request system to abuse or harass another user.

No warranty on filtering accuracy

Nourous makes a good-faith, on-device judgment about each video, but no automated filter is perfect. We don’t guarantee that every inappropriate video will be caught or that every appropriate one will be shown. Nourous is a tool to reduce exposure, not a substitute for ordinary parental judgment and supervision.

Intellectual property

The Nourous name, logo, and software are owned by us. These terms give you a limited, non-transferable license to use Nourous for its intended purpose — they don’t transfer any ownership to you.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Nourous isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including content encountered on YouTube that the filter didn’t catch. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Termination

You can stop using Nourous and delete your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, including abuse of the acceptable-use rules above.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Nourous changes. If we make a material change, we’ll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
